Cloud and Fire Ministries: The love kids are dying for

This scripture blessed me so much today:

I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me.  I said, “Here am I, here am I,” to a nation which did not call on My name.  I have spread out my hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts…It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”   Isaiah 65: 1, 2, 24

You know, the Lord is so gracious, and He seeks to make Himself known even to those who do not seek Him or ask for Him.  I know that in my own life, I didn’t always seek the Lord, but rather sought my own ways, my own interests, and my own destiny. In doing so, I made a royal mess out of my life!  Nevertheless, the Lord continually made Himself known to me so in so many ways, and eventually, I understood His love and mercy towards me.

At Cloud & Fire Ministries, we are reaching out to those who did not ask for God, have not called on His name, and who follow their own thoughts.  Many of them are broken, hurting people who don’t know where to turn to make things better.  Some have, like me, made a royal mess of their lives. How encouraging to know that the Lord has His eye on them, and is graciously saying, “Here am I.”

Sometimes, we make faith about being part of an exclusive Christian club. We expect people to do something in order to become part of the group.  Yet, the Lord tells us in this passage that He is the one who initiates connecting with people—even people who are far away from Him, and oblivious to His love and kindness.

There are kids in our community who are literally dying for love.  They get involved in all kinds of things—drugs, crime, gangs, cutting, and even suicide—because they feel so empty. We are trying to turn that around!  It is our hope that every young person who visits Cloud and Fire will feel the dramatic impact of a head-on collision with God’s love! This is absolutely the most powerful way for the Lord to say, “Here am I!” to a people who do not know Him.
